A great deal of what we defend out of this office comes from Highway 400 and Highway 407 traffic stops, from residential search warrants, and from the drug and firearms investigations that follow them. Vaughan has no criminal courthouse of its own. A charge laid in Vaughan, Woodbridge, Maple, Concord or Thornhill is heard in Newmarket.
The courthouse is Newmarket Courthouse, at 50 Eagle Street West, Newmarket, Ontario L3Y 6B1. If you have a date there and no lawyer yet, duty counsel are at the building and cost nothing, whatever you earn. They can speak for you on a remand or a bail hearing. They cannot run your trial, which is the part worth thinking about early.
